Tour

This is the Stevenson Screen, in which are mounted the maximum air temperature thermometer, minimum thermometer, and dry and wet bulb thermometer. The dry and wet bulb are used to work out humidity, although now the new automatic system has a humidity sensor. The box in the screen is a hygrothermograph which plots the temperature and the humidity upon a chart which rotates one revolution every week.

This picture shows the Stevenson Screen, and the soil thermometer tubes, as well as the box containing the datalogger, where all of the readings taken by the station are recorded before being downloaded by telephone line to a PC.
